The Shaanbei-Hubei ±800kV ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project is a key national ultra-high voltage project that fills the power supply gap in Hubei Province through external power supply and meets the growing demand for load in the region. The project starts from Shaanbei Converter Station in Fugu County, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, and passes through four provinces of Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, and Hubei, ending at Wuhan Converter Station in Xinzhou District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. The project will construct a new Shaanbei Converter Station with an additional capacity of 8 million kilowatts and a new Hubei Wuhan Converter Station with an additional capacity of 8 million kilowatts. The total length of the new ±800kV DC transmission line from Shaanbei to Wuhan is 1,136.1 kilometers.
